U.S. Saws manufactures and sells specialty saws and tools to the construction industry. They service three major markets: Water and Sewer Industry, Concrete Repair and Specialty Coating Industry and Rental Houses. Pipe saws, specialty diamond blades and beveling equipment are made available through a Distribution Network of waterworks distributors along with Independent Distributors who stock and resell U.S. Saws products nationwide. Air saws are offered through Rental Outlets and independent rental centers. Their “Dust Free” concrete cutting and grinding tools are sold through many of the STAFDA distributors nationwide.
The Client also sells direct to consumer through their website, which was built on Magento 1. They Client wanted a website redesign, geared towards intuitive user navigation, and an upgrade, having the site built on Magento 2.
The website had over 1,000 SKUs, so organizing the updated site to provide end-users with a clean interface, and organized workflow required micro planning. Kit Media assisted with preparing a sitemap, and wireframing the website.
Using descriptions that the Client provided about their ideal website, we prepared mockups and a prototype of the entire website for their review. Through a few rounds of revisions, we fine-tuned the prototype until it matches the Client’s vision.
We developed the website on a Magento 2 staging environment, allowing for the Client to monitor our development progress, and provide feedback during development when necessary. Because of the massive scope of this project, our Quality Assurance team worked side by side with our developers, providing bi-weekly reports and feedback to keep the project moving along efficiently. After launching the website, we prepared over a dozen video manuals teaching the Client how to use Magento 2, allowing for proper management of the website going forward.
